I purchased Mrs. Thistlethwaite and the Magpie and couldn't wait to start reading it. The fact that the main charcters were senior citizens intrigued me. The story didn't disappoint me in any way.
The character of Mrs. Thistlethwaite was fun loving, smart as a whip, and had an instinct for solving mysteries. The authors insight into her characters was refreshing and they were well developed. ...Read Full Post »

I was given an ARC by the author and voluntarily choose to review it. Charlene, has a fan and I will be reading more of her work.
This is my first read by this author and I must say I really enjoyed it. I loved the story line and the journey from present time back into 1878. The descriptions of the countryside and typical life in 1878 made the story seem qu...Read Full Post »

I opened my new online store over the weekend. I have combined my love of art into designing Premade Ebook Covers. From my experiences of being a new author, I saw that there was a need for moderately priced covers, so I decided to start creating my own. I especially noticed a lack of sites fo purchase what I would term, Christian appropriate ebook covers.
I have priced my covers from $25- $35 which sh...Read Full Post »

How is the weather where you live? Here in Missouri it keeps changing. Our Spring flowers are in bloom. They are confused. We have had several days of 70+ and then thunderstorms and dropping temperatures. This Saturday it is supposed to snow. Go figure?
I'm at work on my next novel, "A Walk with Heavenly Spirits" which I hope to be able to finish soon and be ready to edit. It’s about a young woman who has fallen away from he...Read Full Post »

Take time to enjoy those things which we so often take forgranted.
With limbs outstretched reaching into the afternoon sky,
Sunlight dances on leaves and in darkness, shadows fall.
Dew droplets nourish each newborn bud,
While roots grow deep; solid, becoming one with the earth.
In the fall, the leaves, a kaleidoscope of color fall to the...Read Full Post »

Poem- The Winter Stage\
A poem for Winter
Icy mist arises in atmospheric splendor, A bleak horizon sets the Winter stage.
The river now hardened by the Winter's chill,
Replaces once more its emanation.
Frozen water droplets suspended in time hang from trees heavy laden with snow,
Forgotten; awaiting the new rebirthing.
For Spring; the time of growth, of harmony with nature,
To cleanse away the ...Read Full Post »

For The Times When Confidence in Your Writing Craft is Fading!
I'm the creative ego that lives within the filled pages of your literary works. I'm waiting, hidden as the blank pages causing intimidation. I take on many forms, but the writer's voice tries to break through just the same. You have to search deep within the writing to determine if she has tr...Read Full Post »
